Outlook Express
  1. Open Outlook Express, click Tools across the top then click Accounts.

  2. A new window will appear, click on the Mail tab across the top. On the right side click Add, and then click on Mail.

  3. Type a friendly name in the Display name: field, click Next.

  4. Type your E-mail address in the E-mail address field, click Next.

  5. Select POP3 from the dropdown and type in mail.digis.net in the Incoming mail field and mail.digis.net in the Outgoing mail field. Click Next.

  6. Your Account name should be your email address. Type your password in the Password field, click Next.

  7. You may or may not see the following screen. If you don't skip to step 9. If you do see this screen select Do not import at this time and click Next.

  8. Click Finish.

  9. Click Finish. and then click Close on the Internet Accounts window and now your e-mail will be setup.

  10. Now we need to setup SMTP Authentication. Click on Tools, then Accounts. Click on the Mail Tab. Highlight the desired account and click Properties

  11. Mail Account  -   you can give the name of the mail account anything you'd like.  In this example, I gave the account the name 'Digis'

    Important:  ensure Include this account when receiving mail or synchronizing is checked.

    Select the Servers tab.

    Enabling SMTP Authentication:

    SMTP authentication is required to send e-mail.  Without this enabled, you cannot send e-mail.  SMTP authentication authenticates your account on the server.

    Towards the bottom, left corner there is a box:  My server requires authentication.  Check it.

    Important:  Do NOT select Log on using 'Secure Password Authentication'.

    That completes the setup of a new account in Outlook Express.
